A giant white complex, the Dongguan Civil Art Center, has opened its doors to the public in Wanjiang, March 18. Taking up a floor space of 29,000 sq. meters, the center is comprised of four connected buildings, the Dongguan Cultural Center, the Intangible Cultural Heritage Hall, a theater and the Dongguan Federation of Trade Unions.
Previously in the Central Square, the relocated five-floor Dongguan Cultural Center provides over 2,200 seats, and free art courses for the public in dance, painting, musical instruments, Cantonese opera, calligraphy, photography, and folk arts. On the first floor, a public ball room is scheduled to open soon, providing what is the only public indoor space for ballroom enthusiasts in the city.
