For a long time, Chinese residents have suffered the confusion of bureaucracy when needing to report commercial fraud, counterfeiting or when needing to consult public services from city departments. By the end of this year, this situation will have changed. A new platform comprised of the 12345 hotline and a Web site will be launched to run 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The new system will combine all 110 of the current service numbers to be routed through a single operator dispatch. The consumer complaint hotline, previously 12315, was likely the most popular, but others of interest include the tax bureau, the environmental protection agency and the women’s federation.
