Cell Phone Recycling

cellphone2Got an old mobile phone lying around? Now you can get rid of it in an environmental-friendly way while getting something in return. Web site ejingmai.com, which was launched last October, is collecting old cell phones for recycling. Users can exchange their old phones, whatever their condition is, for new, small items such as yoghurt makers, egg cookers, frying pans, and shoe shelves, or for cash vouchers of over RMB 100 for more expensive home appliances like rice cookers, ovens or vacuum cleaners. The mechanism behind the website is called venous industry, meaning industrial waste goes back into raw materials for new production. More than 13,000 cell phones have been collected over the last two months.
